How’d The Show Go?
By: Sandieganliz

Dumpstaphunk is a funk band from New Orleans, Louisiana who appeared at Winston’s in Ocean Beach to get funky, and a crowd showed up to embrace their rhythm.

It was Tuesday and Dumpstaphunk showed up to play a solo gig. It looked like San Diego loved it because there was quite a crowd for the night and most of them got down to the southern-style “phunk” and urban soul of Ivan Neville’s band. All of their songs were great, especially when a drum solo carried that marching band sound. Also, the band called girls to go on stage and dance to a song. At one point, the lead vocalist sang “Shake it like a Salt ‘n’ Pepper Shaker” to get the girls movin’. It was a great show with great New Orleans style!

Dumpstaphunk is currently hitting various spots before returning home at the end of the month. Be sure to check ‘em out if you like that funky soul rhythm.
