Ease Up & Stranger

By Sandieganliz

Ease Up played in Ocean Beach on Friday, February 4th. They’re a local band that definitely define the California reggae/rock/ska genre, but that’s not to say they sound “Sublime”. In fact, they sounded versatile and catchy, and the members performed really well. The vocals were great and so was the extra guitar busting out random riffs. Most of their songs seem to be based on romance and relationships – the youth can definitely relate to the lyrics.

Stranger, based out of Chula Vista, took over and played a nice, long set. The dance floor was packed for them and, once again, I caught them playing some unreleased material and tracks off their latest EP, Some Kind of a Sign.
