By ACCM Launches Policy Toolkit
The American Council of Cannabis Medicine announced the launch of its Legislative Medical Cannabis Toolkit on Sept. This comprehensive resource is designed for federal, state, and local policymakers.
It helps them understand the evolving medical cannabis landscape.
The toolkit addresses patient access, physician participation, and whole-plant protections. It also covers insurance integration, industry standards, and scientific research. These topics are critical as medical cannabis integrates with mainstream healthcare.
Doug Benns, Executive Committee Chair of ACCM, emphasized the need for reliable information. He stated, “Medical cannabis policy is entering one of the most important periods in its history, and legislators need reliable information from people who understand patient care and the operational realities of the industry.” This statement was made in the press release for the announcement.
Direct Access to Specialists
ACCM is making its Legislative Response Team available to legislative offices and government agencies. The team provides policy briefings, proposed-bill reviews, and committee preparation. It also offers technical assistance and qualified experts for testimony.
The organization can assemble specialized response teams based on specific office needs. Participants may include healthcare professionals, patient advocates, and researchers. Insurance experts, compliance specialists, and dispensary operators may also join these teams.
