Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee Slams Cannabis Industry, Says It Targets ‘Gullible’ People

In a series of videos, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee warned that legalizing adult-use marijuana in Arkansas would help drug cartels and the cannabis industry “make money from gullible people.” . The video was released as voters prepare to choose the state’s next governor and decide whether to legalize pot.

Filled with misleading and unfactual concepts, the video warns about the dangers of cannabis. In the first video, Huckabee looks directly into the camera and voices his reasons for opposing legalization.in the second videothe Huckabee video begins with images of homeless people, drug addicts and syringes littering the streets.

The video was posted on the Family Council Action Committee website. Arkansas Adult Use Cannabis Amendment.

“Unfortunately, you’re not the one making the money. The drug cartels will be,” Huckabee said in the video.

“And if you’re one of those people who can sell that drug, you’ll be able to make money off gullible people who somehow convince themselves that this is absolutely harmless,” Huckabee said. added.

“The Southern Baptist Ministry of Arkansas has been working for decades to help people overcome addiction and substance abuse. Family Council Action Committee Executive Director Jerry Cox said in an Oct. 14 statement. press release“Some say marijuana is less harmful than alcohol. It’s common in states such as and Issue 4 legalizing THC extracts that are more potent than the typical marijuana plant. Another reason to vote against issue 4 of the month.”

Arkansas’ road to legalization has been rocky to say the least.

August 3, State Electoral Commission (SBEC) Denied authentication It cites concerns about sufficient background checks and restrictions on THC for dispensary owners to legalize adult-use cannabis in No. 4. SBEC review is part of a new process for ballot petitions.

Then, on Sept. 22, the Arkansas Supreme Court overturned SBEC’s decision to deny recognition of a constitutional amendment legalizing adult marijuana use. 5-2 in opinionthe Arkansas Supreme Court dismissed the panel’s concerns about the sufficiency of the vote. Justices Sean Womack and Barbara Webb disagreed.

“With these criteria in mind, we conclude that the title of the ballot in question is sufficiently complete to convey an understandable idea of the scope and importance of the proposed amendment.” , Lieutenant Justice Robin Wynn wrote in the majority opinion. Therefore, we approve the petition and direct the Secretary of State to certify the proposed amendments for inclusion in the November 8, 2022 general election ballot.”

Huckabee criticized the opinion. “[The justices] They are certainly intelligent people, and the only people who really benefit from this are those who sell snack food to satisfy themselves, other than those who are trying to make a fortune selling it at a high price. I know there is Hunger for people engaged in recreational marijuana use,” Huckabee said. Huckabee condemned the judge, but he doesn’t necessarily agree with the bills the judge approves or rejects.

Ironically, some people in Arkansas, part of the cannabis industry, contributed to the Huckabee campaign. Arkansas Cannabiz has identified his donation of over $50,000 from people currently working in the Arkansas cannabis industry who contributed to Sanders’ campaign.

Huckabee’s daughter and former White House press secretary for President Trump, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, is also against No. 4, which will be put to a vote this November. latest poll shows she has an 11-point lead over Democrat Chris Jones, with 7% of people saying the race is inconclusive.

  • It's amazing how ignorant some people can be. It's even more amazing - and scary - that some of those ignorant people once held in their hands the lives of millions. The government is more guilty at preying in the gullible than anyone.
