To make these cannabis caramels, we provided a cannabis caramel recipe that combines the rich, buttery sweetness of classic caramel with the unique medicinal properties of cannabis. The process begins by decarboxylating the cannabis to activate the psychoactive THC component, which is then infused into butter to serve as the base for the caramel. This combination is carefully cooked with sugar, syrup, and cream to create a delicious edible that not only satisfies your sweet tooth, but also provides the desired effects of cannabis.
It's important to remember that cannabis edibles can be powerful and their effects can last much longer than smoking or vaping, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. In light of this, it's a good idea to practice properly labeling your cannabis caramel (or any cannabis product!). Food products are clearly marked, kept out of reach of children, and clearly labeled, as accidental ingestion can lead to unpleasant or dangerous situations. Please confirm that. Similar to alcohol, if you live in a state where marijuana is legal, it's important to talk to your children and educate them about edibles and why they can be dangerous if ingested.
I always recommend that anyone making something new or trying it for the first time start with a small amount to gauge their tolerance. Edibles may take some time to take effect, so it's wise to wait at least two hours before taking more. Additionally, as I always suggest, prepare a batch of regular, non-infused caramel, too, in case you get peckish and want to indulge without increasing your dose.
Of course, never drive or operate heavy machinery; When under the influence of cannabis! To enjoy the benefits of cannabis without putting your safety or the safety of others at risk, it's important to consume cannabis responsibly. As with all edible foods, remember to start small and enjoy slowly and responsibly.
