By Seventh Annual New Jersey Cannabis Convention Set
NECANN brings the New Jersey Cannabis Convention back to the Atlantic City Convention Center on September 18 and 19. This is the show’s seventh year.
NECANN launched the event in 2019, before adult-use cannabis was legal in New Jersey. The first show drew roughly 75 exhibitors and a little over 1,250 attendees.
This year NECANN expects more than 5,000 cannabis professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors. More than 200 exhibiting companies will cover cultivation equipment, genetics, extraction, packaging, retail software, compliance, and insurance.
That is a roughly four-fold jump in exhibitors since 2019. A two-day pass including every speaker session runs $80.
Atlantic City sits an easy drive or rail ride from both Philadelphia and New York City. The boardwalk, casinos, hotels, and bars keep attendees talking after business hours.
Programming And Featured Guests
The programming features four tracks and more than 35 sessions spanning branding, cultivation, business and regulatory topics, energy efficiency, and social equity and empowerment.
The Beast Media Stage runs two days of panels on policy, business, leadership, and culture, with Max B sharing his cannabis journey.
Redman will be on-site Saturday talking about his new THC beverage line. Jim Belushi appears Friday for autographs and to discuss his farm’s product line.
The NJ NECANN Cup will be handed out at 2 p.m. Saturday on the main stage. It is open to every licensed cultivator and brand in the state and blind-judged by an independent third party.
The NECANN Women’s Lounge, programmed by Blunt Brunch, runs both days and is open to everyone. A free shuttle runs between the Convention Center and High Rollers, the official show dispensary, on Friday and Saturday.
After Hours Events And Equity Access
Things kick off Thursday evening with a catered exhibitor and buyer reception at the Treehouse, hosted with the New Jersey Cannabis Chamber of Commerce.
Friday afternoon brings the Day One Mixer back to the Treehouse. Friday night is “The Afters,” the official after-party at the Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall presented by iAnthus, featuring a dab bar, lawn games, and live music.
That after-party is already sold out. Attendees reading early should plan accordingly.
NECANN is donating 10% of exhibitor floor space to New Jersey social equity license holders. A free expungement clinic runs Saturday from 11 a.m.
for residents clearing cannabis-related convictions.
Pre-registration is required for the expungement clinic. The show remains the annual gathering where the Garden State cannabis industry takes its own temperature.
