NORML Donor Matches Contributions To Fight Prohibitionists Before Midterms

Donor Matches Gifts Ahead of Election Day

A NORML supporter has stepped forward to match donations to the organization dollar for dollar ahead of Election Day. The announcement comes with just six days remaining before voters head to the polls. NORML said the matching offer means every contribution made today will have twice the impact.

The organization is urging supporters to donate now while the match is active. Early voting is already underway in states across the country. NORML described the remaining days before Election Day as critical to its efforts.

Prohibitionist Measures on the Ballot

NORML says prohibitionists are spending millions to repeal legalization, strip voters of their rights, and stand in the way of meaningful progress. Two state contests have drawn particular attention from the organization. In Massachusetts, voters will decide on a prohibitionist-led ballot initiative to repeal legalization.

In Idaho, voters will consider a constitutional amendment to surrender their rights to ever vote on legalization.

According to NORML, anything short of a resounding defeat of these measures in the two states will embolden prohibitionists to repeat these attacks elsewhere. The organization characterized the stakes for marijuana freedom as especially high in this election cycle. It is working in every state to inform voters and defend existing progress.

NORML Urges Donations Before Deadline

NORML is asking supporters to make their donations today so their gifts can be matched. The matching campaign runs through the final days leading up to Election Day.

With six days left, NORML says every remaining day matters. The organization is focused on informing voters in Massachusetts and Idaho about the consequences of the ballot measures. Supporters can contribute through NORML to have their gift matched dollar for dollar before the election.
