National Animal Group Urges Idaho To Lift CBD Pet Ban

According to a national group dedicated to animal and pet health, Idaho’s ban on CBD and hemp-derived products will only do more harm to animals as people are giving them CBD regardless of regulations.

There is an urgent need for CBD oil in dogs and cats with seizures and other problems, and CBD could be beneficial in those areas before making medical claims and ultimately gaining approval from the FDA. It’s a complex problem that oscillates between what you need to prove.

Last July, the Idaho Department of Agriculture (ISDA) announced The ban on CBD products and other hemp-derived products intended for pets and livestock is set to go into effect on November 1st.

“The Idaho Department of Agriculture plans to stop selling pet products (animal health supplements) in dosage forms containing hemp and CBD beginning November 1, 2022,” the petition reads.

“This decision may harm animals whose owners no longer have access to the products their pets rely on for a variety of health and wellness reasons. It will also have a serious economic impact on businesses.

Removing CBD pet products from the market opens the door to a black market industry of unscrupulous vendors selling questionable products that may harm animals. We may also look at products for humans that are not toxic or marijuana products that contain high levels of THC. ”

NASC has two very specific missions. It is to “promote the health and well-being of companion animals and horses fed animal health supplements by their owners, and to protect and strengthen the animal health supplement industry.”
