OptiBiotix Health Rides Holland & Barrett Launch To Boost CBD Product Reach

Holland and Barrett Launches Formi Product With SlimBiome

OptiBiotix Health Plc (LSE:OPTI) is generating fresh interest this week after Holland & Barrett launched a Formi-branded product containing the company’s SlimBiome ingredient.

SlimBiome is OptiBiotix’s flagship weight management ingredient, a fibre-based formulation designed to support satiety and gut microbiome health when added to food and supplement products. Its inclusion in a Holland & Barrett-branded Formi product places the ingredient on shelves within one of the UK’s most recognised health and wellness retailers.

SweetBiotix Update Adds Second Newsflow

Alongside the SlimBiome news, OptiBiotix provided an update on SweetBiotix, its platform aimed at producing natural, low-calorie sweeteners intended to replace sugar in food and drink formulations without the digestive drawbacks associated with some existing sugar alternatives.

The sweetener category has become increasingly competitive as manufacturers respond to consumer demand for reformulated products. This gives OptiBiotix a further avenue to license its underlying microbiome science beyond weight management alone.

Licensing Model and Market Context

OptiBiotix operates primarily through licensing arrangements with food, beverage and supplement manufacturers rather than manufacturing and selling products directly under its own brand at scale. Retail wins such as the Holland & Barrett listing serve as important proof points of commercial traction, helping validate the underlying science to prospective licensing partners across other geographies and product categories.

OptiBiotix is not a cannabis company and makes no cannabinoid-related products, but its natural, functional ingredients business shares retail shelf space and a similar health-conscious consumer base with the CBD and hemp wellness category. The company sits alongside vitamins, supplements and CBD wellness lines in the same aisles.

With both SlimBiome and SweetBiotix now generating fresh newsflow, investors are likely to focus on how quickly additional retail and manufacturing partnerships can be converted into recurring licensing revenue. The wider backdrop for London-listed equities this week has been shaped by a mix of currency moves, evolving interest rate expectations and geopolitical developments that continue to ripple through investor sentiment.
