Remexian Orders Surge 50% One Year After High Tide Acquisition

Orders Jump Following Acquisition

Remexian Pharma GmbH reported a significant surge in business activity one year after High Tide Inc. acquired a majority stake in the German medical cannabis wholesaler. Stefan Adomeit, co-founder and managing director of Remexian, told Business of Cannabis that orders have increased by approximately 50 percent since the transaction closed.

This growth marks a strong performance for the company based near Berlin, which supplies roughly 100,000 of the country’s 800,000 medical cannabis flower patients.

The company recently announced on August 4, 2026, that it distributed over 10 tonnes of medical cannabis flower during the third fiscal quarter ended July 31, 2026. This volume represents an all-time quarterly distribution record for the firm.

High Tide’s investment has positioned Remexian as a leading supplier in a competitive landscape. The wholesaler imports product from 22 countries, with Canada serving as the primary supplier. Portugal and South Africa follow as secondary sources for the company’s inventory.

These imports allow Remexian to maintain a steady supply chain for its domestic clients.

Resilience Amid Reimbursement Changes

Germany recently halted reimbursements for cannabis flowers through the state health-insurance programme as part of a government cost-cutting drive. This decision immediately impacted some 65,000 reimbursed patients who previously relied on the state system for their medication. Adomeit expressed empathy for these patients, noting that many had to prove that standard therapies failed before qualifying for cannabis treatment.

Despite the policy shift, Adomeit stated that Remexian does not see a huge effect on its business. He explained that the company focuses on selling low-price, affordable flower to self-paying patients rather than reimbursed ones. This strategic focus has insulated the company from the immediate financial shock of the reimbursement halt.

The company continues to serve its core customer base without significant disruption.

The loss of reimbursement has created confusion among affected patients regarding their ability to afford the product. Some may be forced to seek alternatives or return to the black market, a scenario Adomeit described as undesirable. However, the overall market demand for Remexian’s products remains robust despite these individual challenges.

Market Dynamics and Pricing

Remexian operates in a highly price-intense market with substantial import competition. Adomeit noted that selling prices have gone down a lot due to the influx of imported goods. Despite this pressure, the company reports that it is doing fine financially.

Pharmacy medical cannabis is priced at around €5, which is substantially lower than black market flower ranging from €8 to €10. This price advantage helps Remexian retain customers who might otherwise turn to illicit sources. The two main indications for which its products are used are pain and sleep disorders.

During the second fiscal quarter of 2026, Remexian distributed 7.6 tonnes of medical cannabis into the German market. This represented an increase of 49 percent on the previous year. The distribution volume produced revenues of $31.6m, compared to $25m during the first quarter of 2026.

These figures underscore the company’s growing financial footprint in the region.
